Centipede’s Book of Inn-Signs

It occurred to me that there weren’t enough books about inn-signs for the under-5s. So this is mine. It concerns a genial, likeable centipede whose chiefest pleasure is to wander over the surface of any inn-sign he encounters on his travels. But how can we tell which particular inn-sign he is on at any given time?
